Back from Winter Market

We are back in action after Winter Market. San Diego is a lovely place as well as having had spectacular weather.Nice change from the grueling cold here in NY.

We were hardly able to contain ourselves while shopping-So many beautiful , new canvases. We purchased some great designs from Lani, Dream House Ventures, Alice Peterson,Magic Needle, etc.. We look forward to being surprised every month with treats from all the designers. Three-D items were all the rage this market.

We will also be introducing New 100% Merino wool from Wiltex Threads and #12 over dye metallic from Threadworks as well as expanding our current lines of Silk Lame, Neon Rays plus, Fyre werks, Impressions and Perle Cotton over dyes.

Sis and I are looking forward to receiving all our new goodies. We keep you posted as stuff starts coming in.

California here we come!

Hello stitchers,

We are anxiously awaiting our trip to California this week. Sis and I are attending the Winter trade show and are excited to see all the new canvases, accessories, totes and more. It's always so exciting to enter the trade show floor after the ribbons have been cut. You walk in and it's sooo large, and overwhelming. Filled with canvases and colors. The air is palpable. Rows and rows filled with your favorite designers.

We will be introducing 100% Merino wool this year. Likely in February, yeh! There are 90 new colors. The texture is fine and not like your grandmother's wool. Thank goodness.

The Piece...

The Geometric is finally finished. Now about framing... quite a task. There is so much going on, matting has become the next hurdle. I have the frame picked out, but just have to find the right combination. It will come. I decided to make a serving tray, so i must pick up handles as well. Still a work in progress.

We have gotten some new lovely canvases in. We had been on hold waiting for the Winter Trade Show to select some canvases from the new 2009 collections from all the designers.

We have received new canvases from Alice Peterson. Her canvases are on 13 ct. and always a fan favorite. These canvases will be fresh at market in January. We also received new canvases from Shelbi and Exclusively Arlene- Lovely McKnights and Tarkays.

We also gave the store a mini-face lift. We painted and freshened up the curtains. We will be celebrating six years of Little Shoppe and starting our fourth year at our current location.

Rainbow gallery threads are in!

We got our shipment from Rainbow Gallery. Of course, RG has the most fabulous fibers and are always expanding their color palettes. Sis has to have them all! We now have the full line of Silk Lame threads. The colors are(as always) beautiful. We'll feature them next month in fiber talk.

I have ressurrected my Maggie geometric which is going to get finished in 2008. It's 95% done and only 3 years in the making. I have been so busy stitching samples, all personal stuff found a home in a draw. Maggie's geometrics are fabulous and are works of art. i love all of them. they come in 18 mesh and twelve mesh. We received some new Caron Collection over dye Water Lilies. The are 12 ply strandable silks in beautiful colors. They are easy to use and delightful to work with. They are strandable. To cut down on chunks of color, flip-flop the stranded threads to meld the colors together. Stitch diagonally to also cut down on stripped effect.

Stitch nite has revved up again after the summer. Hopefully , you can join us on Wed. evenings for some stitching, laughs and camaraderie.
